Our body synthesizes cholesterol during the night. We need to follow the natural rhythm of our body of sleeping during the night for so many natural reasons. What I learned when I was studying nurse midwifery in 1998 is that our body’s natural rhythm should coincide with the time we sleep and time we synthesize cholesterol in our body. Our hormonal production is powered by the rhythm of night and day in our bodies, especially women.
So, take a nap when your body tells you to and sleep during the night and work during the day. As we age, we have irregular sleep patterns because of decreasing melatonin in our brain. Feed your brain, sleep during the night, work during the day and exercise before going to bed. Take your calcium and magnesium supplement hours before going to bed. These nutrients are important to 90% of our body cells.
