Yesterday, thousands of tech service workers, immigrants, activists, and working families left work and took to the streets for May Day in Silicon Valley. Together we marched through San Jose, tearing down symbolic walls of oppression and saying it’s time to build bridges, not walls.
It was inspiring to stand alongside so many others fighting for justice. Now we must build on that momentum, transforming yesterday’s energy into tangible change.
In the coming months, we’ll be working to further cap rent hikes that are pricing out longtime San Jose residents, engage the tech sector in finding solutions to our region’s affordable housing crisis, and develop leaders who can fight for their communities’ needs.
