Each new piece of information that comes to light about Donald Trump’s firing of James Comey gets more and more disturbing.

We now know that the FBI’s investigation into Trump’s ties to Russia was heating up when Trump made his decision — Comey had just requested more resources and manpower.

In an interview with NBC News’ Lester Holt last night, Donald Trump openly admitted that the escalating Russia investigation was part of his rationale for firing Comey.

And just this morning, Donald Trump publicly threatened the former FBI director, tweeting that he would release tapes of his conversations with Comey if Comey were to reveal what he knows.

Donald Trump is actively interfering with the investigation into himself, his campaign, and Russian interference in our election. And Republicans in Congress are letting him get away with it.

Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell have both suggested there’s nothing to see here and that there’s no need for an independent investigation into Trump and Russia. But you — and hundreds of thousands of grassroots Democrats like you — signed on to tell them they’re wrong.
