The most important day of this year wasn’t January 20th. It was January 21st — when hundreds of thousands of people marched on Washington at the Women’s March and millions more stood up across the country and around the world and said that we would not be silenced.
Since that day, Americans have made it clear that we will resist Donald Trump and the GOP’s agenda — by marching at airports, showing up at town halls, and demanding action from our elected representatives. As Democrats, our task is to translate that energy and activism into votes, so we can replace complicit Republicans in Congress and state legislatures with Democrats who will resist with us.
Resistance Summer is all about local, on-the-ground organizing from the grassroots up. In a few weeks, we’re holding our first-ever nationwide organizing training in Detroit, bringing together organizers from all 57 states and territories and equipping them with the tools and resources they need to elect Democrats up and down the ticket.
Then, together with state Democratic parties like yours in all 57 states and territories, we’ll get to work educating, organizing, and mobilizing voters in communities across the country to resist Donald Trump’s attacks on hardworking families and win at the polls in 2017 and beyond.
Connie, this is how we get back to basics — organizing in every zip code to elect Democrats who share our values. But in order to build a truly grassroots movement that will propel our candidates to victory, we need our best supporters like you to stay active and involved.
Sign up now, and we’ll make sure you’re one of the first to know how to get involved with Resistance Summer events near you:
Thanks — more to come soon.
