Gastritis

Dear Z,

Regarding your letter. Good thing you saw a doctor and now you are researching for yourself.  Please update your doctors after you research and observed your body.

Dear Connie, I am searching for meds for my terrible acid reflux.  I can tell about myself a bit. I am 32 years old guy from Israel. And 3 months ago, after I fasted for 24 hours and just ate dinner, the next morning I had a strong bad feeling in the stomach, which the doctor said it is Gastritis. I went to a doctor who did not recommend me to do the Endoscopy so far and he just said that I have to take Nexium, which helped me but I stopped cause I do not want to get use to it. Regards, Z

If we observed what is happening inside your body, a blood, urine and fecal tests can tell us a lot. What has been your diet in the past 2 years? Any allergies? Is your inner eyelid pale (lack of iron)? Do you sleep well? Exercise. Sunshine. Family history of cancer and other chronic disease. Where you breastfed by your mom when you were a baby? There are many more questions.

Aloe vera juice is said to soothe the stomach and digestive tract especially for those with colitis, irritable bowel syndrome and ulcers. Consuming aloe vera juice releases pepsin which is a gastric juice that is said to aid digestion. Gastritis causes inflammation of the stomach lining.

When you eat meat, ensure it is cooked well and eat it with fiber rich food and drink water 30min before and after and not during to not dilute your stomach acid.

Raw sulfur rich foods- arthritis and ulcerative colitis

If you have eaten bad food, hydration and chicken soup with lots of garlic and onions (sulfur rich foods) will heal some tissues, add probiotic (acidophilus) and digestive enzymes (pineapple, papaya) and rest and keep observing what you eat and do.  Eating with a little vinegar helps in the absorption of nutrients and digestive enzymes help break down the fat in the meat.

  • Peptic ulcers occur in the stomach (gastric) or duodenum (duodenal) and affect 5.9 million Americans
  • Sometimes they may heal on their own, but more commonly they require your attention to reduce the bacteria causing the condition
  • Using antacids, proton pump inhibitors or H2 blockers alone may reduce your symptoms temporarily but may also worsen the condition long-term

About Nexium

Common side effects include headache, diarrhoea, nausea, flatulence, decreased appetite, constipation, dry mouth, and abdominal pain. More severe side effects are severe allergic reactions, chest pain, dark urine, fast heartbeat, fever, paresthesia, persistent sore throat, severe stomach pain, unusual bruising or bleeding, unusual tiredness, and yellowing of the eyes or skin.[7]

Proton pump inhibitors may be associated with a greater risk of hip fractures[8] and Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea.[9] Patients are frequently administered the drugs in intensive care as a protective measure against ulcers, but this use is also associated with a 30% increase in occurrence of pneumonia.
