Steve Clemons, a freelance editor for the Atlantic and National Journal, reports that Trump abruptly fired the Federal Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) on February 3rd. Trump dismissed the CISO and several members of his team overnight without any warning.
That includes keeping sensitive data out of the hand of foreign powers. The CISO has an important job, given all the Russian hacking that went on last year.
But Trump wants his own people in charge of cybersecurity. So he removed the Obama appointees.
At first, it wasn’t even clear what was going on. Clemons initially tweeted early that morning that 2 members of the Secret Service were forced to resign.
Reports coming in that some Secret Service mgr level personnel forced 2 resign 2nite & escorted out of EEOB. Two out but source says more
It later became clear that CISO Brigadier General Gregory J Touhill had resigned. White House sources said that other members of Touhill’s office had also lost their jobs.

The administration hasn’t said who will take over this office either. Maybe Trump wants to make it easier for his buddy Putin to hack our internet?
The Trump White House wants to hide what it’s doing from the public. Secret firings in the middle of the night are just the first step.
