I didn’t want to watch the debate but was mercilessly coerced. (Boyfriend looked at me lovingly and said “Come watch the debate with me!”)
I watched it. The whole thing.
Trump was petty, disrespectful, rude and ignorant. He interrupted constantly. He bullied both Hillary and the moderator, Lester Holt. He lied repeatedly.
Every time he interrupted to sniff and shout “WRONG” or “I NEVER SAID THAT” my twitter feed lit up with people retweeting his own tweets, where he indeed said that.
Like this. Look:
Hillary handled things with incredible poise and patience. We saw her at her best: informed, mature, tolerant, expert. She only got better and more solid as the debate went on.
While I shouted at the screen in outrage and frustration, she remained unflappable.
I’m with her.
