Who won the first Trump-Clinton U.S. Presidential debate? by Dave Consiglio

Answer by Dave Consiglio:

There is no question who won – Trump blathered incoherently and told America how proud he was to be rich. Hillary made cogent points about policy and appears to be aware of how government works.

It’s a low bar, but Hillary went over it, and Trump ran into it face first.

Put aside your ideology for a moment. Pretend you didn’t know which party the candidates belonged to. Now, imagine one of those people negotiating a deal for you. Or imagine one of those people was your accountant. Or your doctor. Who would you want?

Being a good politician is no less challenging than being a negotiator, or an accountant, or a doctor. It takes skill, knowledge, practice, etc. Would you want an inexperienced doctor, a “medical outsider?”

Of course not. And you shouldn’t want that for your president, either.

One candidate knew what she was doing up there. The other make fat jokes, complained about Rosie O’Donnell, and lied repeatedly about not having said things that he said on Twitter.

If the choice isn’t clear, then you’re not thinking.
