How do you lower your bad cholesterol?

Cholesterol is synthesized during the night and works in conjunction with your stress hormones. Your pituitary gland is responsible for stress, food cravings, sleep and sex hormones. Which means that brain food such as protein should help lower cholesterol but we also need the good ones such as avocado, nuts and eggs (no synthetic hormones, limit to 3 /week).

Limit carbs to 25 grams per day since carbs turn off fat burning enzymes and hormones in your body.

Avoid grains such as corn,wheat,rye,oats,rice.

Avoid dairy, grass fed butter, coconut and almond milk are acceptable.

Avoid legumes such as peanuts, beans and soy. Walnuts, brazil nuts and almond are not legumes.

Eat 25 kinds of herbs and spices, 24 kinds of vegetables, 5 fats (avocado, coconut, grass fed butter, macademia oil)

Eat 27 kinds of protein (with fiber from vegetables included in your meal): chicken, fish, other meat

Quercetin A supplement good for lowering cholesterol; its also been shown to help relieve the symptoms of allergies.

Dong quai root A great source of iron and a natural sedative, this root is also supposed to help lower cholesterol.

Ginger root Not only does this help with a queasy tummy, its also good for high blood pressure and helping lower cholesterol.

Artichoke extract Containing a compound called cynarin, this increases the livers production of bile. The extract boosts the flow of bile from the gallbladder. Bile is a key element for the extraction of excess cholesterol.

Beta-sitosterol – Research shows that it can lower LDL cholesterol without having an effect on HDL cholesterol.

Ferulic Acid A powerful antioxidant that can reduce the level of cholesterol and triglycerides.Also found in brown rice, whole wheat and oats.

Policanol A nutrient found in raw sugar cane and beeswax. Its said that this significantly lowers levels of LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) increases levels of HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol) and does not raise your blood sugar levels.

Lecithin – High in nutrients, it helps to raise HDL levels and inhibits the absorption of cholesterol from foods.

Pumpkin Seed Oil – Contains essential fatty acid nutrients that may help to reduce the amount of cholesterol produced by the liver. The oil has also been shown to enhance the cholesterol-lowering ability of policosanol and other nutrients.

To take statins or not is up to your doctor and your body. So monitor your body, more fiber. Eat the skins of yams and other root crops.

Medications have side effects.

If you have genetic predisposition for high cholesterol, add fiber and avoid sugar and stress.

Do 12 repetitions of the following exercises: squat, push ups, planks, lunge, crunch, brisk walking, dancing and light jogging.
