This is a diagram of the viral proteins

COAT OF PROTEINS MAKES VIRUSES MORE INFECTIOUS AND LINKS THEM TO ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE

Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) interact with biological fluids, creating a coat of proteins around the viral surface. This results in the viruses becoming more infectious and can contribute to the formation of amyloid plaques. In animal models, researchers found these viruses can bind to amyloid proteins, which aggregate into plaques that contribute to Alzheimer’s disease. HSV-1 is able to accelerate the transformation of soluble amyloid proteins into amyloid plaques.… READ MORE…

Reuse and do not reheat some foods

What you can do instead?

You can use the leftover chicken in salads or sandwich, or re-cook the chicken on the stove on a very low flame.

2. Potatoes

How many times have you just reheated this food?

One of the most commonly used food item, potatoes are often used in most households during several meals in a day, sometimes, all the meals. But this is not the best practice.

You shouldn’t reheat it because

It is rich starchy food that has many health benefits.

When reheated it promotes the growth of botulism a rare bacteria. However, it can’t be killed by reheating in microwave. It may instead lead to food-poisoning.

What can you do instead?

The best way is it to re-cook them in a shallow pan.

3. Spinach

Popeye’s favourite food is very nutritious but you must avoid reheating them.

You shouldn’t reheat it because:

It contains a lot of nitrates which convert to nitrites when reheated, and nitrites are carcinogenic in nature.

What can you do instead?

You can either eat it after steaming it or just cool it quickly and keep it below 5 degrees celsius to prevent nitrite production.

4. Oil

Many times you reheat the leftover cooking oil and prepare pakodas not realising that it can greatly harm your body.

You shouldn’t reheat it because

You should know that your cooking oil should be heated at a low flame, thereby, helping it release less smoke.

In case you reheat previously heated oil, it is likely to release toxic fumes and harmful free-radicals.

What can you do instead?

The best way would be to discard the oil and not re-use it.

5. Beetroot

You shouldn’t reheat it because:

Beetroots just like spinach are nitrate-rich foods.

Reheating them converts nitrates to nitrites which is carcinogenic to the body and can also give you a stomach ache.

What can you do instead?

If there’s any leftover rather than reheating it’s better to eat it cold.

6. Rice

Rice is the most common leftover item in our kitchen and also most commonly reheated food.

However, it’s best to avoid reheating it in a microwave.

You shouldn’t reheat it because

Uncooked rice contains spores of bacteria and reheating it does not kill this bacteria.

So, if the rice is left standing at room temperature, the spores automatically multiply.

This may prove to be toxic and cause vomiting and even diarrhea.

What can you do instead?

Boil water and add the leftover rice to it.

Don’t over-boil the rice as it would become soggy.

You’ll find that the rice would look and taste as good as new.

7. Eggs

This staple breakfast food also should not be reheated.

Best known as a protein powerhouse, reheating boiled or scrambled eggs should be avoided.

You shouldn’t reheat it because

The protein in eggs is destroyed once it’s exposed to heat over and over again.

Also they become toxic and unfit for consumption once they have been cooked.

What can you do instead?

You can chop the boiled eggs and use them in a green salad.

Vagus nerve connects the gut microbiome to the brain

The brain and gut can be connected through a variety of pathways, including the enteric nervous system (ENS), vagus nerve, the immune system, or the metabolic processes of gut microorganisms.

The gastrointestinal tract is an organ that is co-dominated by the CNS, the autonomic nervous system, and the ENS. Regulation of enteric nerves consists of four levels of nervous regulation []. The first level is the local regulation by the ENS. The ENS consists of two nerve plexuses, the myenteric and submucosal plexuses, and the motor neurons and the sensory neurons of the ENS connect to each other to perform an independent information integration and processing function, which is similar to the situation for the brain and the spinal cord. The second level is located at the prevertebral ganglia, which receives information transmitted from both ENS and CNS nerves. The third level is the CNS. After integrating various pieces of information from various centers of the brain and spinal cord when they receive signals regarding internal or external environmental changes, the CNS transmits its regulatory information to the ENS or directly acts on gastrointestinal effector cells through the autonomic nervous system and the neuroendocrine system to regulate the smooth muscle, glands and blood vessels. The fourth level consists of advanced brain centers; information from the cortex and the subcortical region converges downward to specific brain stem nuclei from the basal ganglia. This type of neuroendocrine network, which connects the gastrointestinal tract with the CNS at different levels, is the structural basis for the function of the microbiota gut-brain axis. Disorders of neurological control at any level will affect the function of the gut and brain. The gut has a direct neural connection with the brain through the vagus nerve, and bacteria can stimulate the afferent neurons of the ENS []. Disorders of the microbiota gut-brain axis are associated with depression, anxiety, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, CNS diseases and other diseases.

The vagus nerve of the body can control the function of multiple organs, such as heart rate and gut motility; the vagus nerve can also transmit peripheral immune signals to the CNS. The vagus signal from the gut can trigger an anti-inflammatory response against the sepsis induced by microorganisms. Gut microorganisms can affect brain functions through the vagus nerve; after a vagotomy, the microorganisms will not be able to regulate behaviors []. After vagotomy in mice, no behavioral change was found even for mice that were treated with probiotics. Similarly, the bifidobacteria treatment, which had been previously reported to be effective, did not improve the behavior of vagotomized mice [].

Because gut microorganisms can directly affect the immune system, immune activation may be the pathway for transmitting microbial actions to the CNS []. Microorganisms can also enhance the anti-tumor immune effect of drugs by promoting T cell accumulation and transformation [, ], and microorganisms are very important for the immune function of organisms. The immune system plays an important role in maintaining health by maintaining gut homeostasis. The elderly have a decreased immune function, resulting in a change in the microorganism-brain connection and subsequent behavioral change. Microglia are immune cells in the CNS, and studies have found that the metabolism of gut microorganisms can regulate the maturation and function of microglia, thereby affecting CNS function [].

Microorganisms can also cause neurophysiological changes in the host by producing chemical substances that bind to the receptors inside and outside of the gut. Bravo et al. found that mice fed L. rhamnosus (JB-1) probiotics exhibited fewer anxiety-like and depressive behaviors and a change in the GABA Aα2 mRNA content in the brain area that controls specific behaviors []. Short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) are produced from the dietary fibers fermented by gut microorganisms in the large intestine. In animal models, SCFAs can improve the neurodevelopment and cognitive function of animals with neurodegenerative disorders []. However, Macfabe injected a specific type of SCFA, i.e., propionic acid (PPA), into rats, which then exhibited autism-related characteristics and neurochemical changes []. These neurochemical changes included neuroinflammation, increased oxidative stress, and depletion of antioxidants, thereby leading to mitochondrial dysfunction. Other microorganism-derived molecules, such as the neural activation molecules serotonin, melatonin, histamine, and acetylcholine also have a role in the microbiota gut-brain axis [].

In addition, studies have shown that the microbiota may affect the CNS by altering adult hippocampal neurogenesis (AHN). The adult hippocampus and lateral ventricle have the function of generating new neurons. AHN has a role in learning and memory and can have affect on the pathogenesis of many neurological disorder-related diseases and symptoms, such as epilepsy, depression, Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and Parkinson’s disease (PD) []. In a recent study, Ogbonnaya et al. found a difference between the hippocampal neurons of sterile mice and those of normal mice and that microbiota colonization after weaning did not alter the amount of AHN, suggesting that early in life, microorganisms play an important role in AHN [].

Sour fruits suppress hunger hormones

Tamarind, guava and many fruits can suppress the hunger hormones.

The people who have had success in losing weight have a few things in common: They weigh themselves at least once a week. They exercise regularly at varying degrees of intensity, with the most common exercise being walking. They restrict their calorie intake, stay away from high-fat foods, and watch their portion sizes. They also tend to eat breakfast.

Mix a salad dressing of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Make your own pickled fruits and veggies with more vinegar than sugar.

Lipids and insulin , reverse aging ,hepatic functions

Aging is arguably the most universal contributor to the etiologies of metabolic decline and related diseases, including type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), cardiovascular disease (CVD), and stroke (1). Insulin resistance (IR) represents a major component of metabolic syndrome (MS) and is commonly observed in older adults (2).

Major impairments include unrestrained hepatic gluconeogenesis, adipose lipogenesis, and defective glycogen synthesis and glucose uptake in skeletal muscle. Abdominal obesity, which is commonly observed with aging, is a major contributor to IR and MS (3). Many older individuals are abdominally obese, despite a normal BMI, a factor that can decrease the utility of BMI as a predictor of T2DM in older persons.

Aging is also associated with an increase in proinflammatory cytokines, which are known to interfere with insulin action. These cytokines are derived from both the age-associated accrual of visceral fat (VF) and secretion of proinflammatory cytokines by increasing numbers of senescent cells (4). Collectively, these age-related alterations in metabolism and body fat distribution are active participants in a vicious cycle that can accelerate the aging process and the onset of disease.

A Beginner’s Guide to Killing Cancer

Medicinal Chemist, Professor Patrick Gunning targets on his latest research to design a molecule that targets a cancer-promoting protein called STAT3. For the last three years from 2016, Gunning has developed a powerful family of molecules that disable the STAT3 protein and stops the spread of numerous cancers while leaving the healthy cells untouched. STAT3 is coined as a master regulator of the cancer cell. How does drugs works on our body. As organic chemist thinks that our body is made of connection.

Why does the cancer cell like to grow, expand and evade?

This is controlled by beautiful caskets of protein. Protein interactions that leads to genes being produced that tell the cell what to do. And in cancer these genes are telling it to survive and to grow. STAT3 expresses genes that leads to division, growth and preventing cell death.

How can we target STAT3 if it’s already performing a normal role?

For normal cells STAT3 is switched on for a very short period of time and quickly shut down. Cancer cells are permanently switched on. And because it’s permanently switched on you have this all expression genes that leads to the cancer cells. Medicinal chemistry targets STAT3. Medicinal chemistry perspective is the design and senses of small, typically organic molecules that binds to specific protein with the exquisite selectivity and potency. And the result of the interaction is the biological response and in cancer that has to be cell death. We won’t let the interaction lead to cell death. In STAT3 they found 3 main binding site, in an active side of protein. Professor Gunning wanted to make a molecule that could access all of those sites. They used computational modelling to identify molecules that could bind.

IC50 is the concentration of a drug required to kills 50% of cancer cells. They bind the molecule to the proteins to see if it’ll bind and next one they bind it with cancer cells. They treat the cancer cell with the molecule to see if the hypotheses is correct by targeting the protein the cell is done. They want to see a molecule that is good to normal cell and cancer cell.

BP1102 which is .8 micromolar is the starting point. It was found out that it didn’t kill those cell and found out on breast cancer cells that it dramatically affected the great number of cells kills them.

The Wrong Gut Bugs Can Make You Fat and Sick (and How to Fix Them)

What if you stop a second and think about this: You share your body with around 100 trillion different life forms. These bacterial cells live in your skin, mouth, nose, yet the vast majority of them live in your stomach related framework and particularly your internal organ.

Envision that. 100 trillion climaxes. Actually, these bacterial cells exceed human cells by around 10 to 1.

According to Dr. George Papanicolaou, DO, among their obligations, these microscopic organisms enable you to get supplements from sustenance. They’re in charge of preparing your resistant framework to realize what can hurt you and how to stop it. They even ensure your qualities by keeping lethal material from spilling through your gut tissue.

Analysts are just starting to comprehend the numerous jobs these microbes play just as their effect on well being and malady. 10 years prior they evaluated we harbor around 200 species. Today, that number is more like 10,000 and will most likely just increment.

The more specialists find out about these great microscopic organisms, the more we understand that they are so associated with generally speaking well-being.

You’ll generally have some awful bugs, yet the great ones ought to command. At the point when your gut microbes escape balance – when those awful bugs dominate – foundation devastation results, making a wide scope of ailments.

At whatever point I see patients with medical problems like touchy inside disorder (IBS) or flawed gut, I generally presume gut greenery awkward nature.

Be that as it may, these uneven characters go a long ways past simply gut wellbeing. Name a medical issue and gut microscopic organisms most likely assumes some job.

Studies interface bacterial uneven characters with Sort 2 diabetes, joint inflammation, fibromyalgia, perpetual weakness disorder (CFS), and headaches. These awkward nature can even hinder weight reduction and make you overweight.

Another patient with an immune system issue called fibromyalgia, introduced to me relating endless gas, swelling and extension. She was additionally stressed over intensifying uneasiness and cerebrum haze. When we fixed her gut, 90% of her manifestations settled. That bodes well considering about 70% of your insusceptible framework exists in your gut and that the gut is likewise enveloped by a neural system with an immediate association with the mind. That gut-mind association is amazing. Fix the gut and you can affect nervousness and cerebrum mist as well as other neurological and state of mind issue like ADHD and despondency.

As a Practical Prescription specialist, reestablishing gut equalization is in reality basic: I take out the terrible and supplant it with great.

Among the elements that antagonistically effect gut parity are anti-infection agents, ecological poisons, counterfeit sugars, and a terrible eating regimen, yet in addition things you may never presume like enemy of bacterial cleansers.

When I’ve distinguished the guilty parties, my center moves toward becoming making and keeping up a solid gut that encourages a rich assorted variety of good microscopic organisms.

That generally starts with what you put on your fork. At the point when patients settle on the correct sustenance decisions and fix a couple of way of life segments, their gut wellbeing improves. They feel good and get thinner. Here are a portion of the procedures I use to fix gut wellbeing:

  1. Concentrate on entire, quality food. At whatever point you can, pick supplement rich natural plant nourishment and sustenance from creatures encouraged their regular eating regimens like grass-bolstered meat and field raised eggs.
  2.  Eat more fiber. Great microscopic organisms flourish with dietary fiber, and inadequate sums make it hard to flourish. A wide cluster of plant-based sustenance like vegetables, nuts, seeds, berries, and vegetables can sustain great gut bugs that help to push out the awful ones. For patients who find getting enough dietary fiber a test, I prescribe a superb fiber powder.
  3. Increment your mitigating fats. When I see patients with gut uneven characters, they frequently have incessant irritation. Omega 3-rich sources like wild-got fish, naturally ground flax-seeds, pecans, and quality fish oil enhancements are among the manners in which you can put out that provocative flame that holds your weight and well-being prisoner.
  4. Dispense with the sustenance that feeds terrible bugs. An eating regimen high in refined, sugary nourishment’s enables pathogens to develop. So do sustenance sensitivities like gluten, dairy, and corn. While we take out these issue sustenance, I request that patients keep a nourishment diary in light of the fact that a significant number of them can sneak into the eating regimen.
  5. Eat (and drink) more matured nourishments. Sauerkraut, pickles, kimchi, and coconut kefir come stuffed with regular probiotics that add to your gut microscopic organisms decent variety. For remedial measures of probiotics, I likewise prescribe a fantastic enhancement.
  6. Feed your great gut bugs. Prebiotics are what your probiotics feed on. Sustenances rich in prebiotics incorporate Jerusalem artichoke and dandelion greens. You may likewise pick a prebiotic-rich powder like inulin or potato starch, however go gradually: A lot immediately can make gastric pain.
  7. Exercise routinely. Among its advantages, customary exercise can cultivate a network of good gut microorganisms. Discover something you appreciate that causes you move – that could be yoga, weight lifting, or strolling – and do it routinely.
  8. Rest better. Getting lacking or low quality rest could antagonistically affect your gut verdure. Go for eight hours of strong rest each night. I discover innovation can restrain tumbling to rest, so I request that patients mood killer hardware (counting television and workstations) at any rate an hour prior to bed.
  9. Control pressure. Perpetual pressure endures an immediate shot on your great microscopic organisms, making a situation where awful bugs can flourish. While you can’t dispense with pressure, you can diminish it with strategies like profound breathing and reflection.

18 minutes talk about cancer

It takes about 40 years for cancer to start growing in your body. It takes billions of its cell to be detectable. If we are over 80 years of age, we are many times more prone to getting cancer. How can we prevent it from growing?  We start by living with less stress, getting adequate night-time sleep, eating more veggies and whole foods than red meat and sugar. We walk on the beach, in the sun and drinking clean water and breathing clean air. Know that chemicals in most processed foods and packaged in toxic containers (such as metals like aluminum and other nonmetals) are endocrine disrupting chemicals that are carcinogenic, or cancer-causing substances.

In today’s genetic medicine, scientist have used virus to find and kill some of the cancer cells but not all.  There are many who lived thru 100 years and was able to kill any cancer causing pathogens, infections, chemicals, virus, bacteria, parasites, molds and fungus by avoiding them, eating whole foods (yams, tofu, vinegar, eggs, greens, to name a few).

How do our cells age?

Connie B. Dellobuono
Connie B. Dellobuono, Pharmacy tech instructor and health author

When microbes over power our good cells, turning against us. When this happen, they contribute to lack of sleep, eating our nutrition, and our brain not getting help in cleaning up toxins in our body during deep sleep.

We spend less time in moving, not getting sunshine and clean air and water.

We are busy being stressed out, our adrenals and liver cannot keep up with the tasks of getting rid of toxins in our body.

Step 1 to cancer free: Limit stress that leads to high blood glucose and lipids

Adrenals and liver come to the rescue as blood sugar levels drop.  The endocrine pancreas, liver and adrenal glands work to normalize blood sugar and triglycerides.

Take care of your stress so it will be easier for you to prevent obesity, depression, sugar cravings and nerve pain which may start to happen at around 55 years of age. When we take care of our stress level, we take care of our metabolism , brain , whole body and we then prevent chronic diseases that lead to cancer.
