Best Marinades for meat

We asked Steven Warrington, chef at 12 King Street, the best steak restaurant in Leicester, for his best meat marinade recipes. “There are three essential elements to any marinade,” explains Warrington, “acid, oil and flavour.”

The acid: Lemon juice, vinegar or yoghurt. “This breaks down the protein, making the meat more tender,” says Warrington.
The oil: “Use olive oil,” says Warrington. “It keeps the meat moist on the grill.”
The flavourings: “Try sugar or caramelised honey, these help balance the acid,” says Warrington. “And add herbs and spices to create different flavours. Once you have learnt this you can pretty much create any marinade you like,” he adds. But if you’re stuck for ideas we have a few below.

(All recipes serve 4)

For lamb chops
Red wine and rosemary
2 tbsp red wine
2 tbsp olive oil
1 crushed garlic clove
1 tbsp chopped fresh rosemary

Mix all of the ingredients together and simply brush on the marinade on while the meat is cooking.

For fish
Basil and garlic
1 tbsp finely chopped basil leaves
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp dry white wine
2 cloves crushed garlic
Black pepper

Mix all the ingredients together and leave the fish to marinate overnight.

For chicken
Ginger, honey and soy
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp white wine or dry sherry
2 tbsp honey
1 crushed garlic clove
1 tbsp grated ginger

Mix all the ingredients together and leave the chicken to marinade overnight. Cook the meat over a medium heat to stop the marinade burning and brush the left over marinade over the meat during cooking.

For pork
1 tbsp soy sauce
4 tbsp marmalade

Mix the ingredients together. Just brush marinade on while cooking. Pork is often a lean meat, so don’t over cook it and make sure you don’t char the marinade too badly either. A medium cooking heat is the best option.

For beef
1 tbsp crème fraîche
1 tbsp fresh horseradish
250g softened butter

Mix ingredients together and cook over a low heat until the ingredients become one. Brush over the beef while it’s cooking and serve on the side as an accompaniment.

Connie’s comments: Thyme, rosemary, parsley and oregano have anti-cancer properties. My brother who is a chef would replace sugar with pineapple juice to add a sweet taste to his cooking. Another chef, use maple syrup. Add fiber rich food together with your meat. Do not eat the burned part of the BBQ since it has carcinogenic properties. When marinating and storing your meat in the refrigerator, beer might give a nice flavor to the meat that is ready for sautéing or BBQ. Dark beer containing hops have anti-hypertensive properties.

Frequency of the human body, whole foods, canned foods

In 1992, Bruce Tainio of Tainio Technology, an independent division of Eastern State University in Cheny, Washington, built the first frequency monitor in the world. Tainio has determined that the average frequency of the human body during the daytime is 62-68 Hz. A healthy body frequency is 62-72 Hz . When the frequency drops, the immune system is compromised. Check out these very interesting findings:
Human Body: Genius Brain Frequency 80-82 MHz Brain Frequency Range 72-90 MHz Normal Brain Frequency 72 MHz Human Body 62-78 MHz Human Body: from Neck up 72-78 MHz Human Body: from Neck down 60-68 MHz Thyroid and Parathyroid glands are 62-68 MHz Thymus Gland is 65-68 MHz Heart is 67-70 MHz Lungs are 58-65 MHz Liver is 55-60 MHz Pancreas is 60-80 MHz Colds and Flu start at: 57-60 MHz Disease starts at: 58 MHz Candida overgrowth starts at: 55 MHz Receptive to Epstein Barr at: 52 MHz Receptive to Cancer at: 42 MHz Death begins at: 25 MHz
Foods (fresh foods and herbs can be higher if grown organically and eaten freshly picked): Fresh Foods 20-27 Hz Fresh Herbs 20-27 Hz Dried Foods 15-22 Hz Dried Herbs 15-22 Hz Processed/Canned Food 0 HZ…(the majority of food we eat) According to Dr. Royal R. Rife, every disease has a frequency. He found that certain frequencies can prevent the development of disease and that others would destroy disease. Substances with higher frequency will destroy diseases of a lower frequency. The study of frequencies raises an important question, concerning the frequencies of substances we eat, breathe and absorb. Many pollutants lower healthy frequency. Processed/canned food has a frequency of zero. Fresh produce has up to 15 Hz, dried herbs from 12 to 22 Hz and fresh herbs from 20 to 27 Hz. Essential oils start at 52 Hz and go as high as 320 Hz, which is the frequency of rose oil. Clinical research shows that therapeutic grade essential oils have the highest frequency of any natural substance known to man, creating an environment in which disease, bacteria, virus, fungus, etc., cannot live.
American inventor Nikola Tesla (1856 – 1943), a pioneer of electrical technology, said that if you could eliminate certain outside frequencies that interfered in our bodies, we would have greater resistance toward disease.
Every essential oil has a frequency and each of our organs and body parts have a frequency. The frequency of an oil will attract a like frequency in the body. Lower frequencies become a sponge for negative energy. The frequency is what stays in the body to maintain the longer lasting effects of the oil. Low frequencies make physical changes in the body. Middle frequencies make emotional changes in the body. High frequencies make spiritual changes in the body. Spiritual frequencies range from 92 to 360 Hz. (Bone frequency is 38-43; neck and down frequency is 62-68).

Dr. Robert O. Becker M.D, in his book, The Body Electric, who also explains that a person’s health can be determined by the frequency of the person’s body.

Another doctor and scientist, whose research has been buried for some time but has managed to resurface due to the work of avid supporters, is Dr Royal Raymond Rife M.D, who developed a frequency generator in the late 1920’s. In brief, Rife successfully treated 1,000 patients diagnosed with incurable cancer in the 1930’s. He was honoured with 14 awards and an honorary doctorate.

After the unsuccessful attempt by pharmaceutical companies to buy out his research and equipment, his office was ransacked, his research paperwork was stolen and the machine that healed all those 1,000 “incurable” cancer patients was destroyed.

In 1934, before this destruction occurred, the University of Southern California appointed a Special Medical Research Committee to bring terminal cancer patients from Pasadena County Hospital to Rife’s San Diego Laboratory and clinic for treatment. The team included doctors and pathologists assigned to examine the patients – if still alive – in 90 days. After the 90 days of treatment, the Committee concluded that 86.5% of the patients had been completely cured. The treatment was then adjusted and the remaining 13.5% of the patients also responded within the next four weeks. The total recovery rate using Rife’s technology was 100%. http://www.rife.org/

What Rife had developed was a 100% effective cure for many forms of cancer. So why do we not know about this and why are there so many cancer research foundations in existence? Put simply, it is due to the economic motives of the orthodox medical community, which relies on funding for cancer research – such funding often coming from pharmaceutical companies – and whose fortunes would be damaged if a cure for cancer was found. (That is, it’s OK to search for a cure but don’t really find one!) This is a story that illustrates yet another grand attempt by the mainstream medical community to control the lives – and deaths – of so many millions of people today.
“In every culture and in every medical tradition before ours, healing was accomplished by moving energy.” – Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, Nobel Laureate in Medicine (1937) What Rife proved is that every health disorder has a frequency, which in turn responds (resonates) to a specific (optimal) frequency for its dissolving/healing in the body.
People who maintain their optimal frequency, at least of their immune system, would prevent development of symptoms and illnesses associated with the common cold. Of course, in practise this does not work for most of us because, being human, we experience stress and emotional challenges on a daily basis, which lower our body frequency. Hence, we need to raise our body frequency regularly/daily with the right substances that are compatible at the cellular/energic level of our being, rather than wait until our body frequency has dropped so low that it becomes a friendly host for microscopic invaders.
How can we prove this? According to a report (Epidemiology, May 2001; 11:345-349) psychological stress – particularly the chronic type that may accompany a personality with a negative outlook – is a risk factor for contracting colds. An optimistic outlook and outgoing personality seemed to protect individuals, investigators found. The findings indicate that high levels of psychological stress are closely associated with contracting the common cold. While the common cold is rarely a serious health hazard, it is responsible for about 30 million days of lost work in the U.S. alone each year. To investigate whether stress increased the likelihood of developing a cold, the researchers surveyed more than 1,100 Spanish university staff and students at regular intervals over a one year period. The study focused on different types of stress, including stress from life events, perceived stress, having a generally negative outlook, anxious or compulsive personality, compared with having a positive outlook/attitude to life.

Individuals with a negative outlook were at greatest risk of developing colds – regardless of their intake of vitamin C and zinc or their smoking and drinking habits. The next highest-risk individuals were those who believed that they were under stress. These people were nearly three times as likely to develop a cold, according to the report.

Misdiagnosed breast cancer , statistics

About 1 in 8 women in the United States (12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime.
In 2010, an estimated 207,090 new cases of invasive breast cancer were expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S., along with 54,010 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer.
About 39,840 women in the U.S. were expected to die in 2010 from breast cancer, though death rates have been decreasing since 1990. These decreases are thought to be the result of treatment advances, earlier detection through screening, and increased awareness.
For women in the U.S., breast cancer death rates are higher than those for any other cancer, besides lung cancer.
Besides skin cancer, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among U.S. women. More than 1 in 4 cancers in women (about 28%) are breast cancer.
In 2010, there were more than 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S.
A woman’s risk of breast cancer approximately doubles if she has a first-degree relative (mother, sister, daughter) who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. About 20-30% of women diagnosed with breast cancer have a family history of breast cancer.
About 5-10% of breast cancers can be linked to gene mutations (abnormal changes) inherited from one’s mother or father. Mutations of the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes are the most common. Women with these mutations have up to an 80% risk of developing breast cancer during their lifetime, and they are more likely to be diagnosed at a younger age (before menopause). An increased ovarian cancer risk is also associated with these genetic mutations.
About 70-80% of breast cancers occur in women who have no family history of breast cancer. These occur due to genetic abnormalities that happen as a result of the aging process and life in general, rather than inherited mutations.
The most significant risk factors for breast cancer are gender (being a woman) and age (growing older).
The more common signs and symptoms of breast cancer are: presence of a mass; nipple discharge; pain in the breast; and redness in the breast. Early diagnosis of all cancers is critical. For breast cancer, early diagnosis can be accomplished by performing monthly self-breast examinations, keeping regular and routine gynecological examinations, maintaining a diet rich in beta carotene (found in many green vegetables and carrots) and low in fat and abstaining from smoking.

Connie’s comments:
Have a yearly check up with your family doctor and do daily routine exam of your own breasts. Get a second opinion if results from a mammogram indicate presence of cancerous cells. All mammogram results should be verified by another type of test. My sister and her 4 GFs worked in a factory of metals and chemicals 25yrs ago and were all diagnosed with breast cancer, one died complicated by chemo and heat stroke. My sister was blessed since during her biopsy water came out instead of cancerous cells while the doctor was using the needle to extract cells from her breasts.

Frequent heartburn increases the risk for throat cancer

Frequent heartburn increases the risk for throat cancer, a new study has found, and over-the-counter antacids may provide protection.

Researchers studied heartburn incidence and medication use in 631 patients with squamous cell cancers of the throat and vocal cords who were not heavy smokers or drinkers, matching them with 1,234 healthy controls. The study was published in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention.

After controlling for age, sex, race, smoking, alcohol consumption, HPV 16 infection, education and body mass index, they found that people who had reported a history of frequent heartburn were 78 percent more likely to have cancer than those who did not. Those with frequent heartburn who took antacids reduced their risk for cancer by 41 percent, compared with those whose heartburn was untreated.

“We have confirmed that heartburn is an independent risk factor, and standard antacid treatment of heartburn may reduce the risk of throat cancer,” said the lead author, Scott M. Langevin, an assistant professor of epidemiology at the University of Cincinnati.

There was no reduced risk among those taking proton pump inhibitors (Prilosec and others) or histamine H2 receptor antagonists (Zantac, for example) — but this may be because people taking such drugs are likely to have the most severe cases of acid reflux, and not because those drugs are ineffective, the researchers said.

Connie’s comments: Eat good fats and whole foods, up intake of Vitamin C, find natural ways to increase your immune system from destressing and healthy lifestyle, take a good dietary supplement.

2% of population who are successful believe fear is not an option

The 2% of population who are successful create their own success and money, invest their time wisely, rejection and limitation are not options, believe in finding what is the value of things and their worth and is not afraid of making a decision.

The 98% of population argue for their limitations, make excuses, work for others, spends more time watching TV, and do not create or build their own success.

Let’s move the 98% to the 2% mentality by opening our minds and that of others to the possibilities and opportunities and start investing our time wisely for our future.

Sore eyes, viral not bacterial infection, breastmilk

In the Philippines, when one has sore eyes they would drop some breastmilk into their eyes and healing happens.
Breastmilk contains white blood cells that can fight a viral infection better than an anti-bacterial antibiotic that a doctor prescribed to me last year in the absence of a anti-viral eye med, he said.

In the USA, I immersed my face in a big bowl of water with salt and few drops of Tea tree oil. Tea tree has anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties.
