Shark oil for your skin, wound healing and overall health

Shark Liver Oil (SLO) has a 30% composition of the omega-3 fatty acids dominated by DHA and EPA. The Omega 3 fatty acids are important components of the brain and nervous system, and also have been associated with reduced mortality rates from cardiovascular disease. Omega 3 fatty acids also promote the reduction of oxygen-derived free radical formation. SLO provides
dietary support against auto-immune problems such as arthritis. The squalene component of SLO provides natural support for wound healing and immune system stimulation.

The traditional uses of shark liver oil have been:

  • As a lubricant in the tanning and textile industries. Crude liver oil containing squalene was used as a lubricant because it has a melting point of -75oC and a boiling point of 330oC.

  • In cosmetics and skin healing products.

  • In health products and traditional foods.

  • To coat the hulls of wooden boats as a preservative against marine fouling.

  • As fuel for street lamps.

  • To promote the healing of wounds, irritations of the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts and general debility by fishermen in Scandinavia in ancient times. By the early 19th century its use there had ended except for a few isolated fishing communities.

  • To produce Vitamin A during World War II, particularly in the USA and Australia. This led to an extensive fishery for tope shark and picked dogfish. The market in shark livers collapsed when synthetic imitations became available.

Nowadays, demand is mainly for squalene oil, which is used in cosmetics, health food, and as high-grade machine oil. Squalene is a highly unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon, present in certain shark liver oils, mainly of the family Squalidae, and in cod liver oil, olive oil, wheat germ oil, rice bran oil and other vegetable oils. Although its occurrence was first reported by Tsujimoto in 1906, it was isolated only in 1926 by Heilborn et al. Shark liver oil is a natural source for this hydrocarbon and squalene is isolated from fish oil by high vacuum distillation. It can easily produce oxygen by combining with water and many studies have been related to its role of oxygen carrier. Some sharks have as much as 90% squalene in the liver and, because of its low specific gravity, thus maintain their buoyancy in water. Squalene is used as a bactericide, an intermediate in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, organic colouring matter, rubber, chemicals, aromatics, in finishing natural and artificial silk and surface active agents. Nowadays it is extensively used as an additive in pharmaceutical preparations, cosmetics and health foods. It is prepared by adding proteins and carbohydrates.

A related compound of squalene is squalane, a saturated hydrocarbon obtained by hydrogenation of squalene. Squalane is also used in skin care products, as it is a natural emollient. It is less easily oxidised than squalene. Other chemical compounds found in shark liver oils are diacyl glyceryl ethers, which are considered to be efficient in healing wounds and in preventing the multiplication of bacteria.

Connie’s comments: Coconut oil, olive oil and shark liver oil are the top 3 oil to restore youthful looking skin.

Blood Deficiency, parasites, iron,metabolic disease

The Chinese medical diagnosis of Blood Deficiency is commonly encountered among women and is at the root of many gynecological disorders and other physical issues. Blood Deficiency is not necessarily the same thing as clinical anemia, though many of the same symptoms can be present in each of these conditions. Blood Deficiency in the Chinese medical sense means that the Blood is not nourishing important organs and systems, which can soon lead to serious metabolic problems.

Signs of blood deficiency include vertigo, blurred vision or spots before the eyes (‘floaters’), fatigue and lassitude, insomnia, poor muscle tone, muscle tightness and cramping, numbness in the extremities, pallor, dry skin and hair, pale tongue (also lips and nailbeds), poor memory, PMS, scanty, difficult or no menstrual periods, a persistent feeling of cold, heart palpitations, and anxiety/nervousness. Note that not all of these symptoms need to be present for the diagnosis of Blood Deficiency to be accurate; often, groups of these symptoms will appear simultaneously.

The most common causes of Blood Deficiency include inherited tendencies (genetic issues); poor diet as a child; poor diet as an adult; vegetarianism/veganism; hormonal imbalance leading to excessive menstrual blood loss; excessive blood loss while birthing a child, or due to an accident; faulty digestion including malabsorption (e.g. colitis); mineral, trace element and vitamin deficiencies; abnormal gut flora; and parasites (flukes, pinworms, roundworms are most common).

Useful Supplements Vitamin C Spirulina Sea Plasma Raw Liver Extract or Liver Glandulars Floradix liquid herbal iron tonic

Useful Foods Kelp/seaweed Dried Apricots Red Meats, including beef, lamb, tuna and swordfish Organic beef liver
Green Leafy Vegetables, especially Watercress

Foods which tonify the blood: liver, whole grains, dark green leafy vegetables, home made chicken soup, roast chicken (esp. the legs), sweet rice, molasses, dried apricots, egg yolk.

Foods which are rich in Vitamin C and which help the absorption of iron: black currants, dark green leafy vegetables (spinach, cabbage, kale, chard, Chinese greens, bok choi etc.), orange juice, broccoli, kiwi fruit. Eat some of these with iron rich foods. Iron rich foods include Blackstrap Molasses, eggs, lentils, watercress, lean meat liver and kidneys, black treacle, blackcurrants.

This pattern is often a result of Spleen Qi deficiency and concurrently poor absorption and processing of nutrients. The following foods can help you build up blood and relieve these symptoms.

Warming foods include: chives, leeks, dates, currants, cherries, raspberries, blackberries, butter, shrimp, mussels, salmon, trout, anchovy, chicken, chicken liver, turkey, lamb, marrow bones, pine nuts, walnuts, chestnuts, reishi mushrooms, lychee fruit, dried peaches

Neutral temperature foods include: carrots, beets, raisins, milk, oyster, eggs, black beans, sardines, herring, kidney beans, aduki beans, beef, pork, beef liver, sesame seeds, peanuts, grapes, turnips, pinto, beans, lima beans, prune juice, lentils
Steer clear of caffeine as it inhibits absorption of iron. It also promotes poor blood sugar regulation and cravings for simple sugars which reduce blood quality.

The production of blood is governed by the Spleen. Spleen Qi/energy is weakened by: dieting, eating too much cold and/or raw food, irregular eating patterns, mental strain while eating, poor study and work habits, worrying about things you can do nothing about, poor time management, and eating on the run or while standing up.

Habits which support the digestion: *All foods should be easy to digest and cooked *No raw foods or salads. No cold foods. This means not just ice cream but salads, chilled foods, drinks straight from the fridge and excess fruit in winter *Regular meals, regular pace of daily life, regular sleep, regular rest and relaxation. Enroll friends and family in your supporting you in ‘regularizing’ your habits! *Soup made with chicken stock *Add warming spices to foods: cardamom, nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon *Orange and yellow root and ground vegetables, e.g. carrot, pumpkin, parsnip, turnips, squashes and pumpkins are sources of natural sweetness, especially when chewed well. They provide the best nourishment for the spleen and help reduce cravings for *Foods to avoid: excess milk and cheese, refined sugar, chemicals in food, liquids with meals, junk food, bananas, peanuts

These are all helpful suggestions for anyone suspicious of Blood deficiencies. To address your particular deficiencies, and the stress factors that lie behind them, please consult Lawrence Miller, L.Ac. for a personalized consultation and treatment.

Connie’s comments: Check your inner eye lid if pale, which means your body needs iron. Take only iron from food, 35% absorption from meat and only 15% absorption from greens. Fluradix, liquid iron supplement including 1 tsp of molasses in the morning is best taken with Vit C and calcium+magnesium also with Vit C and D are best taken in the afternoon for iron and calcium cancels each other. Salt like iodine and chloride containing foods such as avocado are cleansing and helps kill bugs. Vit D and C are important in many chemical processes in the body including the absorption of nutrients and strengthening of the immune system. See a naturopathic or holistic doctor.

A tale of 3 sisters and 3 brothers in the Philippines, 1970s-present

Their dad, a heavy equipment mechanic, moved from one mining company to another and then to the city of Manila, a crowded place so different from the paradise in the countryside, other islands. With 6 children in tow, he told each of them to take care of each other at an early age. There is no social services in the Philippines, no student loans and so the economy is driven by the migrant workers who send back their hard earned money to support the family.

In the Philippine Islands, it takes a ferry or a ship to move from one island to another. They finally settled in the second mining company north of the Philippines with no friends, but they easily made friends as their mother is so generous and friendly. The children have to walk 4 mountains to go to school, most of them in elementary school at the time. When heavy rains fell, they are met with mud and landslides. The 3 older children have to carry the younger ones on their back, barefoot, to get home in time before nightfall.

When they finally moved to the city of Manila, they found a small room in a squatter area where they use the same bedroom as their dining and living room. The two older sisters would go to the market and prepare lunch for the younger ones, a cooked squash and mung beans in a soup with one small piece of pork while their parents are at work, with their mother working as an embroidery maker and their father as a driver.

After high school, the eldest sister went to college and vowed to finish it even when she had to work during the day and study at night. At night, her parents would pick her up from the bus stop to walk her home since at that place many women can be taken by force and be made a wife at an early age.

She finished college and worked for Intel until she had an opportunity to work in Taiwan. After 4 yrs, she was able to move to the USA where her distant uncle in the USA petitioned her with a working permit. All those years, from the time she worked at 19 yrs of age, she had given her paycheck to her parents to help with the family and so she did, one of her sisters became a computer engineer, who also helped one niece by supporting her nursing college education and now a nurse.

The third sister migrated to Australia while the second sister stayed in the Philippines, became a realtor and supported the 3 remaining brothers and their families. The 3 brothers worked odd jobs and also assisted the second sister in her real estate development work and sales. By 2012, there are 12 grandchildren who went to private elementary schools and high schools. Their mother who migrated to the USA in 2000 had given all her paycheck to support the family in the Philippines. The father died of lung cancer in 2001 in the Philippines after working for only 6 months in the USA.

The two younger brothers suffered a heart attack in 2012 while the older brother has a mental handicap but worked as a chef, driver and cook. Now, the second sister had a heart attack, the year was 2013. In the hospital bed, one brother massaged her with garlic while the second brother arrived later and massaged her with ginger soaked in oil and came back with lemonade with garlic. The bed-ridden sister felt a calm and relief and a sense of happiness seeing how she was loved by her brothers.

While the 2 other sisters, one in the USA and Australia, gathered all the money they can find to send back to the Philippines to help pay for the medical expenses of their hospitalized sister. In the Philippines, one has to pay for some medical bills in a public hospital and more money in a private hospital.

Connie’s comment: She was the older sister in the story and is currently praying for the health of her sister in the Philippines. She lives with her mother in the USA. This story is written for her children, nieces and nephews to be living proof of how sisters and brothers should love each other.

Herbs than can slow the progression of Alzheimer’s, used after a heart attack/stroke/migraine

thyme

sage

rosemary

parsley

lemon balm
Alzheimer’s is a traumatic, degenerative disease leading to memory loss and a decrease in cognitive brain function. Symptoms of Alzheimer’s include disorientation, especially at night, and possibly increased aggression. As the disease progresses, brain cells die and the brain actually shrinks in size.

The continual mental decline can be slowed with the use of ginkgo biloba or ginseng. These two herbs are known to improve memory and concentration. Lemon balm contains flavonoids that help improve memory. Rosemary, peppermint, basil, ginger, turmeric, sage, cat’s claw, and wormwood essential oil also improve memory and improve brain function. Other herbs that delay the onset of Alzheimer’s are bilberry and evening primrose. Royal jelly from honeybees can also help.

Herbs, supplements, and good nutrition can help prevent Alzheimer’s disease. Vitamin E, thiamin, Vitamin B-6, Vitamin B-12, fish oil, and acetyl L carnatine can slow the formation of plaque inside the brain which causes reduced cerebral blood flow and cell death.

Avoid red meat and include lots of eggs, soy, sea vegetables, whole grains, seeds, fresh fruit, and fresh vegetables in the diet. Add foods that are rich in B vitamins such as brown rice, brewer’s yeast, molasses, liver, fish, flax seed oil, and wheat germ to the diet. These foods also block aluminum absorption.

Many studies show that Alzheimer’s disease is related to a build up of aluminum and heavy metals in the body and may call for a detox. Beware of fluoridated water which increases aluminum absorption by up to 600%. Purchase flour that does not contain aluminum as one of the ingredients. Switching aluminum pans for cast iron or enameled ones can be beneficial. Avoid aluminum utensils, aluminum foil, deodorants containing aluminum, and drinks that come in aluminum cans. Another tip worth considering is having silver amalgam dental fillings replaced. Some studies show that they cause mercury toxicity.

Most Alzheimer’s patients have a noted tryptophan deficiency. Tryptophan is an essential amino acid that cannot be synthesized by the body and therefore must be part of the diet . Eating poultry, bananas, cottage cheese, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, avocados and other foods rich in this nutrient may delay the onset of Alzheimer’s or improve existing symptoms.

Daily exercise can prevent or slow the progression of Alzheimer’s by increasing available oxygen. Decreasing prescription diuretics and pain pills can also help. Many times there is a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s when the problem is actually over-medicating with prescription and over-the-counter drugs.

*Always consult with your healthcare professional before taking any herbal remedy.

Connie’s comments: After a heart attack and a stroke, my sister has a ruptured small blood vessel in her brain. She did not take her daily anti-hypertensive meds at 49. When rushed to the hospital, her BP was a high 200/120 and after a day in the hospital went down to 170/100. Most of the herbs listed above are rich in Vit C. Rosemary and thyme have anti-cancer properties. Both are rich in iron, necessary for healthy blood flow. All the listed herbs contain phytonutrients and calcium and magnesium (relaxes the nerves). Before any surgery, the following herbs should not be taken: gingko, garlic, ginger and ginseng. My grandma who died at 94, is not taking her hypertensive meds regularly but eats fresh garlic, ginger and onions when she feels that her heart is pounding, eyes painful, body seems to freeze and headache unbearable.

Expressing Love Thru Your Dance

Listen to the beat of the drums. Listen to your heart beat, what does
it say. Close your eyes, what do you feel. Feel the palms and finger
tips of your dancing partner.

Dancing and having sex are related in the rhythms that they both
follow. There is less affection in dancing but each one enjoys the
moment of musical dance and magic.

There maybe two kinds of dances: ballroom smooth and latin rhythms. In
smooth ballroom, there is forceful stiff upper body emanating from the
woman while the latin rhythms have lots of hip swaying and erotic hip
movement and seductive walks. Whether it be International or American
style, we say we like the choices that is presented in the American
style.

There are of course other folk dances from different countries, all in
celebration of the earth, festivities, bonding in marriage or
seduction in courtship or love and romance. Each dance employs the
movement of the body to project the message that one wanted to convey.

Each move that we make in dancing is likened to the movement we make
when making love.

We take each step while following the lead of the man.

We show off our woman thru the dance, telling the world that she is
mine and I am hers.

We breath in the rhythms of each other’s breath.

We move toward or away from each other in same motion and beat, yet
our eyes are focused on each other’s sense of direction.

Each step we make in dancing is the same step we make in making love,
one step at a time. And then the music changes from its beat from slow
to fast and then to slow, we feel the beat of the music as we feel the
movement of our bodies when making love.

Expressing each others’ warm in ways we make love is expressing each
other’s beat in the way we dance with each other.

We take each dance step as if we are making love to the music,
listening to its cues.

We make love as if we listen to each other’s cues, drawing energy from
each other, in sync with each other’s motion and heat of the moment.

We express our togetherness in the rhythm of the music, we dance as one.

In dance, we show our love and hate all in one dance while in making
love, we show our passion all in one conscious moment. There is more
affection in the latter and less in dance.

In Two-Step, we feel the words in the music of love played just for
lovers to fall in love to each other again, as they dance in swaying
motion as if rocking each other to sleep.

In Bolero, we feel the romantic ballad as if each song of love comes
from within our being, swaying our hips and thrusting to each others
body yet flowing in one motion and then quickly turning to exhale.

In Swing, we dance like children and giddily enjoying the moment of
hand holding and turning.

In Cha-cha, we sway our hips as if we want to be cheek to cheek with our lover.

In Rumba, we tease our lover by the way we sway our hips forward and
backward as we move our legs.

In Paso Doble, we show our passion and submission in one dance

In Tango, we show our connectedness and oneness as our bodies hit each
other in one line, there is no ups and downs, there is only the
feeling of the bodies’ movement and direction.

In Waltz, we move up and down as if we are rocked to sleep

In Foxtrot, we are playful yet mindful of where we are going together.

In Samba, we throw our passion and love for each other showing the
thrust and energy we put in our legs and hips.

In Salsa, Merengue, or Cumbia, we stand tall but sway our bodies in sexy moves.

In Bachata, we locked each other’s legs as if we can never be separated.

We express our oneness in making love, moving and swaying in same
energy and heat of the moment.

In dancing, we learn to listen to the beat and move with the beat.

In having sex, we feel each other in a rhythm that is in sync with
each other, neither slow or fast, just right for both partners,
feeling each other’s bodies.

There is a big difference though when having sex and making love.

When making love, there is affection and pleasing one another is the norm.

There is cuddling and time is no limit. In the moment of passion, both
hearts are one, beating as one and feeling each other more. There is
a pledge of togetherness with each other, the moment is a significant
event, not just a bodily urge.

In having sex, there is also the feeling of each other’s bodies but
the heart is not one.

There is an emotional detachment to the outcome knowing that the
affair might not happen again.

There is the one time force which both hunger for but ready to not
experience again.

So, we choose our own moments. I choose making love and not having
sex. Most women crave for relationships for they know their bodies
well and can please them well too.

While most men crave for sex, only few experience the real power of making love.

Skin signals, diet, supplementation and skin care

Now that I’m helping people be skin beautiful with anti-aging products from the makers of Proactiv at my site www.clubalthea.myrandf.com 408-854-1883 motherhealth@gmail.com , I am sharing the following skin signals, diet and supplementation info:

Deep wrinkles can be a result of aging, eating processed foods, or sun exposure. Eat foods containing lysine, an amino acid that helps you build collagen from fish, legumes, eggs, and fruits with free-radical fighting function such as dark colored ones, citrus, veggies and flaxseed oil, olive oil and evening primrose oil.

Lackluster complexion or skin pallor is indicative of anemia, or underactive thyroid.  Liquid iron from Fluradix, Vitamin D (once a week gel , 10k IUs all Vitamin Bs, C, selenium and folate.  Eat lightly cooked cruciferous veggies.

Hyperpigmentation or melisma with sun exposure and aging as culprits can be caused by insufficient Vit B12. Eat yogurt, sardines, and supplementation of 2 mg of astaxanthin, a natural carotenoid from microalgae to regulate melanin production.

Blemishes, redness or breakouts are caused by irritating products and hormonal imbalance. Flush toxins by detox and whole food diet. Avoid allergens causing substances in food. Avoid sugar and overly processed foods. Eat papaya, pineapple and green tea in between meals. Detox even more with supplementation of curcumin, fiber and chlorella.

What are you passionate about

I am often asked by prospective entrepreneurs how I got started and what they might learn from it. But my answer is: “Don’t follow me.” Follow your own path by finding a problem worth solving that you are uniquely qualified to solve and can get passionate about. Then have the persistence and patience to pursue it.

  1. Problems
  2. Passion
  3. Persistence
  4. Patience

Problems

Teddy Roosevelt once said, “Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.” The key is to look around and get in front of a mega-trend and then look to solve a major problem or issue in order to fully leverage that trend. The good news is we don’t lack for major trends represented by multiple, multi-billion-dollar underlying markets. Take for example:

Living in a Resource Constrained World:

The world population will grow by nearly 30% in our lifetimes to 9 billion people. Population growth stresses natural resources and it will be compounded by economic development across Asia, India and Africa – areas that are already stressed from a resource standpoint and by consumption per capita that is forecast to grow more rapidly than population, further straining resources. Using energy as a proxy for other resources – today, the United States consumes twice as much oil as China. But as China’s total energy demand surges 60% in the next 15 years, it will consume 70% more total energy than the US. Note that India, Indonesia and Brazil (just to name a few) have higher rates of growth in per capita energy consumption than even China. According to the International Energy Administration, $620 billion a year in oil and gas investments are required just to fill this demand. Thus, game-changing innovation and entrepreneurship is mandatory in areas like: solar, access to hard-to-get resources and low-cost energy storage systems. There are problems of equal magnitude in food, water, electronics and healthcare – terrific opportunities for entrepreneurs and innovators.

Everything as a Service: The “out-servicing” era:

This is a revolutionary, highly-disruptive approach to technology and business models across multiple industries – all driven by software. Consider the post-PC era of tablets, mobile devices, and the “Internet of Things” – from cars to appliances to industrial equipment – that are connected to the cloud 24 x 7. It will allow new entrepreneurs to zero in on their core value with laser precision – innovate there and outsource or as I call it “out-service” the rest. It’s a major reason why the current $15 billion software-as-a-service revenue will leap to 10 times that as we move from discrete systems to continuous cloud services – another huge opportunity.

The Need To Scale Infrastructure:

In order to enable and support the “out-servicing” era, whether it’s cloud computing, big data or mobile, there’s an insatiable appetite for content and connectivity. Today, there are about 9 billion mobile devices and that is forecast to grow to 50 billion connected devices in 2017. In 2012, networks handled more mobile data traffic – than in all preceding years combined and yet it’s forecast to grow at a 66% compounded rate until 2020. So, the opportunities to develop scalable, software-defined infrastructure, policy engines, data mining systems, content and applications from gaming, to education, medicine or wearable computers is huge going forward.

Know that along the way you will of course run into naysayers, challenges and even failure. To overcome those you will need a healthy dose of passion, persistence and patience.

Passion: Pursue your passion, find your flow, trust your instincts.

In order to pursue these kinds of big problems, you will need to learn to tap your internal energy.

That energy may initially come from a basic need. For example, if you’re just starting out, it might be the need to pay off your student debt. And those needs are important if not critical. But in time, I believe our passion is the sustainable source of positive energy. If you’re not already aware of your passion, start by finding your flow.

Flow is literally that activity where you find yourself free flowing and lose track of time it’s so natural. Composers find it in music. Athletes find it competing. Programmers find it coding. Where will you find yours? Here’s a paradox: you will only know when you find it because you will lose yourself in it. So it may take careful self-observation.

There’s a wonderful TED talk on this subject here.

It can take time to find your true passion. Enjoy the journey, the exploration and the learning about yourself. As you navigate, you will build your compass that will help you find your true north, your true calling in life.

And precisely because you focused on and took time to find that passion, you will build the conviction and instinct to pursue it. And you will need that as many people and things may conspire to divert your flow. Don’t let them; it will sap your energy. Eschew the cynics; find your own path to positive energy.

And always trust your gut instincts. They will ultimately serve you well, even though it may not be obvious at the time. Sometimes the hardest decisions are the best. And they may include what NOT to do. So often “less is more” in everything from products to life.

And in that vein, if the noise gets too great, keep taking things away until you find silence. Learn to meditate if necessary and in the peace, reconnect with your convictions. It is often in the pause or the gap that the “breakthrough thinking” has room to arise.

Persistence and Patience

Great entrepreneurs have a bias for action that’s admirable. They get in the flow and focus on doing a few things well and build on success. They ask more questions than they answer, and they listen more than they talk. But even with all that it takes time to build something of impact and importance. And while you may get lucky, luck is a poor basis to build a life on. By contrast, patience and persistence really do pay off.
On average in our business it takes 5-7 years to build a company of any significance. And typically even longer than that to build a sustainable, independent public company. So, while I hope you’ll find a breakthrough to prove those averages wrong, be compassionate with yourself if you find it’s taking longer and proving harder than you thought.

In the immortal words of Winston Churchill “if you’re going through hell, keep going!”

Some of our greatest investments took longer and traveled more tortuous and twisted paths than we could ever have imagined but then ended up being bigger successes than we ever thought possible. If you can just get back in the flow and enjoy the ride, you may never want it to end and that’s the basis to build something really enduring.

Wishing you a life of entrepreneurship, passion and the persistence and patience to enjoy the journey!

Art is right reason in the doing of work. Three things are necessary for the salvation of man: to know what he ought to believe; to know what he ought to desire, to know what he ought to do.

Anti-aging miracle worker for skin care, Peptides

The building blocks of proteins, peptides have become an essential ingredient in anti-aging skin care. Peptides are a string of amino acids that are held together by bonds of nitrogen and carbon. Short chain peptides are able to penetrate the epidermis and send signals to cells, informing them how to function.

There are many different types of peptides, which have various effects on the cellular function of the skin. Considered by many to be one of the most effective treatments in repairing damaged and aging skin, the most important thing to remember when using a peptide formula is diligence.

Results from peptides will generally not be visible for anywhere from 4 to 12 weeks. It can be discouraging to not see changes before that time, but routine use will deliver results. Once you begin to notice changes in your skin, it is important to remain diligent in the use of peptide products. Once you discontinue using the products, the results will eventually fade.

The peptides that block skin inflammation in the products created by the doctors at Rodan+Fields (makers of Proactiv) will help you find the right solution from the so many options, checkout

Happy Father’s day

CAM00769

Blessed are the fathers, the silent bread winners.

Who ensure  the family’s finances and security.

Who inspire their children to greatness.

And the Mr Fixit, the Goto person when mom negates our ideas.

He is full of wisdom and knowledge.

He guides his children well, tucks them to bed when mom is busy.

Happy Father’s day to all fathers.

——————–

Many children find the loving support from a father as one of the important ingredient to their success.

Happy Father’s day!

You can write a poem, a card, create simple gifts from your hands, mix some lotion or massage oil or cooked for your father.

He will surely appreciate the time you put to show you care this Father’s day.

My father has told me to support my brothers and sisters as the eldest in the family, which I did.

He also told me to find a man who loves me more and that he can travel many mountains just to find me.

He suffered from lung cancer even when he stopped smoking 15yrs before.

He loves life, very generous and a committed father and husband.

Why you are doing what you are doing, success and dreams

We have to ask why we are doing what we are doing. Ask yourself the reasons for choosing the directions you are threading. When we know the why and are determined to stick to our plans because we believe in our why, we know in our heart that we found what we are looking for.

Our passion and determination to get what we want will help us get to where we are going.

My why of helping others in getting their dreams of financial freedom will also help me support the college education of my 2 teens and help me with my own personal dreams.

I am blessed to be surrounded by a supportive network of people.

Many more friends are coming my way to support me as I network with others and help them live their dreams too.

So next time, you make a decision, ask yourself your WHYs. Why do you want to succeed? Why do you want to prepare when you lose your job? Why do you want to retire yourself or your wife from an 8-5 job?

How to Get Fungus Free For Life

How to Get Fungus Free For Life

by Jennifer Savedge, as seen in The Doctor’s Prescription for Healthy Living Magazine January 2005, pp 34-35

Kathryn Bell, of West Peoria, Illinois, was taking a laundry list of medications for everything from nerves to depression to high blood pressure. But when she broke out with a rash covering her entire body, her doctors could not come up with a cure. It was her daughter, Janet Ricca, who found the remedy. Janet had luck in the past treating her own digestive and skin disorders with antifungal herb supplements, so she shared the idea with her mother. Kathryn’s doctors were flabbergasted with the results. Not only did her rash disappear but so did her other disorders. The 80-year-old woman no longer needs the long list of prescription medications. In fact, she’s up and moving like never before.

There are over 400 fungi that produce pathogens, or mycotoxins, which are toxic to humans. According to Doug Kaufmann, a prominent fungus expert and host of the syndicated daily health show, Know the Cause!, “Mycotoxins cannot presently be discerned inside the human body. All we can do is see the track of damage they cause.” Fungi are ubiquitous, and easily find their way into our systems. A fungal overgrowth in the body can mimic many diseases, such as diabetes, sinusitis, eczema, digestive disorders, and even cancer. And many times, we unknowingly take antibiotics or other prescription medications that make our symptoms worse. If you think fungus might be at the root of your symptoms, you need to learn how to get the fungus out of your body. Here’s how to get fungus-free for life.

Don’t Feed the Fungus

Fungus needs carbohydrates and sugar to proliferate, so people who have a fungal overgrowth tend to crave these foods. This is why people on low-carb diets tend to mysteriously have lower cholesterol and blood pressure, even though they are eating a lot of meat and animal products. Low-carb dieters are unknowingly killing off the fungus within their bodies that is at the root of their other conditions. Fungus can also be found in foods like corn and peanuts. This is why, according to Kaufmann, people with serious diseases, such as cancer and diabetes, crave foods like peanut butter, corn tortillas, or popcorn. Try a diet that is high in protein with few carbohydrates and sugars and avoid foods that might contain fungi. If you cut back on these foods and your symptoms dissipate, it is likely that fungus was the cause of your symptoms.

Restore Balance

Fungus finds its way into our bodies through the air we breathe and the food we eat. It is kept in check by the healthy bacteria and internal flora in our system. These bacteria also aid in the production of vitamin B and lactase. However, it is easy for the system to become unbalanced. Preservatives, additives, and the use of antibiotics, oral contraceptives, or alcohol can destroy the healthy bacteria in the body and allow fungus to grow unchecked. As you begin to reduce the fungus in your body through dietary changes and antifungal supplements, it’s a good idea to take an acidophilus probiotic supplement that can reestablish your body’s healthy bacteria, as well as a multivitamin to boost the body’s supply of antioxidants and minerals.

Fight the Fungus

There are many natural antifungal supplements that destroy fungus in the body. Caprylic acid, olive leaf extract, apple cider vinegar, undecylenic acid, grapefruit seed extract, and neem have all been proven to contain antifungal properties. And it’s actually best to try using a few different antifungal supplements in rotation. This is because fungus can learn to adapt to antifungals that are taken every day. Alternate between which supplements you use every few weeks to maintain their effectiveness. Here’s a look at some of the most potent antifungal supplements and how they work.

Caprylic Acid

Caprylic acid is a fatty acid that is commonly found in both coconut and palm oil. It is one of the most popular and effective antifungal medications, because it is quickly absorbed and it easily dissolves the cell membrane of the fungus, rendering it inactive. Caprylic acid has been used for the treatment of candida overgrowth syndrome, as well as such fungus-related ailments as athlete’s foot, constipation, ear problems, eye floaters, and sinus infections.

Olive Leaf Extract

Humans have used olive leaf extract for centuries to treat such conditions as gout, malaria, fever, and hemorrhoids. And as early as the 1900s, the leaves were also recognized for their antimicrobial properties. The active ingredient in olive leaf extract, called oleuropin, breaks down in the body to become elolenic acid. Elolenic acid is particularly effective against many strong strains of fungi. Olive leaf extract can help to treat fungal-related conditions like influenza, encephalitis, shingles, chronic fatigue, irritable bowel syndrome, arthritis, psoriasis, and sinusitis.

Apple Cider Vinegar & Odorless Garlic

Apple cider vinegar contains malic acid, which is very good at destroying fungi. It can be used for the treatment of high blood pressure, arthritis, high cholesterol, sore throats, acne, fatigue, headaches, and many other conditions. Apple cider vinegar also helps to boost the immune system, stimulate cell growth, regulate blood circulation, and neutralize toxicity in the body. And it is a good source of vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C, and E, as well as potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, sulfur, phosphorous, and beta-carotene.

Undecylenic Acid

Like caprylic acid, undecylenic acid is a fatty acid that acts as an effective antifungal. It occurs naturally in the body in the form of sweat and it can also be extracted from castor bean oil. Undecylenic acid works to inhibit yeast and mold and restore the body’s balance of healthy bacteria and internal flora.

Grapefruit Seed Extract

Grapefruit seed extract was originally used by farmers to kill the mold and mildew found on their equipment. It is a powerful weapon in the prevention and treatment of diseases. This phytochemical can fight over 100 different strains of yeast and fungus, directly killing the fungal germs both inside and outside the body.

Neem

Neem is a potent blood-purifier and detoxifier with strong antibacterial and antifungal properties. And unlike conventional antibiotics, neem does not destroy the body’s healthy bacteria and internal flora that are needed to maintain optimum health. Neem has been used with positive results to treat such conditions as acne, eczema, herpes, and dandruff, as well as candida infestations.

Clean It Up

Now that you’ve attacked the fungus in your body, it is important to make sure that it is removed from the system. Increasing water and dietary fiber consumption will help to move waste through the body more quickly. Psyllium is a plant that is rich in the dietary fiber necessary to clean out the body. It literally acts as a sponge, attaching itself to toxins and flushing them from the system. It has traditionally been used to treat constipation. And according to the Food and Drug Administration, psyllium may also lower the risk of heart disease. One drawback to the use of psyllium as an herbal supplement is that it tends to gel up quickly, making it unpleasant to swallow. Psyllium can be taken in capsule form to avoid this unpalatable taste. Another option is a product called Flaxium, produced by BioActive Nutrients, that contains 50 percent psyllium and 50 percent organic flaxseed powder. This combination tastes better and is easier to drink than pure psyllium. And it also incorporates the healthful benefits of flaxseed, such as lowered cholesterol and reduced inflammation.

Doctor’s tips on skin care

My girlfriend was depressed when I gave her a sample of skin care products . She called to tell me that after applying the sample to her face, she felt that it made her face skin and smooth the whole day even when perspiring.  She had been working two jobs and now plans to be an independent rep as she learned of many men and women who have transitioned successfully from housewives, corporate executives to successful  independent representatives. And I just started and met awesome people and many more friends are loving the products. Helping each one of us find the confidence in our skin and feeling happy about it will lead us to good health. Making an extra income will bring back our confidence too. So, I invite you to join me at ARIIX.

Making men and women feel confident and beautiful and earn extra income

Monday product demo and facial at Viva Restaurant in Los Gatos CA (beside Whole Foods) ; 6:30pm

80% of us who do not see a dermatologists or doctor regularly, can now avail of the benefits of seeing one, whose mission is to connect people with the products, the knowledge, the resources and the opportunities to change skin and to change lives.

Doctor’s tips

1: Put Eye Cloths in the refrigerator and use them as a cooling, soothing eye compress to refresh tired eyes.

2: Carry on Eye Cloths with you on the plane to refresh your eyes and face during a long flight.

3: Bring the Eye Cloths to the golf course or tennis court and treat your skin as you remove sweat and grime. Follow with a layer of sunscreen.

4: It’s not beauty sleep if you sleep on your face! Doctor’s orders – sleep on your back to avoid pillow creases and deepening of natural lines and wrinkles.

5: When it comes to washing your face, lukewarm water is best. Contrary to a popular urban skin legend, heat does not open pores any more than cold shuts them tight.

6: Wear your sunglasses for extra protection and to minimize squinting.  It’s an effective way to reduce future eye creases.

7: Use the Regimen on the neck, décolleté, and hands to reduce the appearance of lines and smooth wrinkles.

Doctor’s Tips

1. Birth control pills or hormone replacement can make you sun-sensitive, so never be stingy with the sunscreen.  Use Mineral Peptides SPF 20 for easy sunscreen re-application throughout the day.

2: Heat (even cooking over a hot stove), hormones, and sunlight can cause brown spots on your skin. Keep cool and reapply sunscreen every 2 hours when exposed to the sun. Remember, no sunscreen lasts all day.

3: The aging rays in the UVA spectrum are present from sun-up to sun-down, 365 days a year, rain or shine, and even penetrate window glass. Reapply Environmental Shield SPF 55 Sunscreen or Mineral Peptides SPF 20 throughout the day, especially before driving home to prevent the left side of your face from becoming more sun damaged than the right.

4: Skin hit a plateau? Use Micro-Dermabrasion Paste 1-2 times weekly on stubborn brown patches and to boost the RRegimen results.

5:  Always wear UVA/UVB sunscreen and do not sunbathe. A single day of unprotected sun exposure can virtually undo months of treatment.

Doctor’s Tips

Washing your face more than twice a day to remove excess oil will eventually cause an increase in oil production. A better approach is to blot away surface shine throughout the day with Blot Papers with Zincidone.

2: If you have a blemish that is red and inflamed, use Sensitive Skin Treatment as a spot treatment to help reduce the redness and treat the blemish.

3: If dryness occurs after using Dual Intensive Acne Treatment at night, layer Sensitive Skin Treatment to help interrupt the inflammatory cascade and moisturize troubled skin.

4: Constant friction on the skin from a helmet, backpack or even a phone, when mixed with heat and sweat, can trigger acne mechanica (form of acne caused by pressure or friction). Keep the chaffing to a minimum and the area clean with Acne Treatment Sulfur Wash.

5: Stopping or starting birth control pills or the patch can cause a dramatic shift in hormone levels, possibly resulting in a change in acne severity a few months down the road. If you’re already taking an oral contraceptive or are planning to start the pill or patch, ask your doctor for one that also treats acne.

6:  Because it takes 2-3 weeks for a blemish to surface, we find that spot treatments are largely ineffective.  However, if an emergency pimple fix is necessary, try applying an ice cube covered with a napkin for 10-15 minutes to reduce redness and swelling, then apply Dual Intensive Acne Treatment.

7:  Don’t skip the sunscreen. People believe that sun helps to clear up their acne because a tan masks the redness of a breakout and may in fact, dry pimples up a bit faster. In reality, over time, sun exposure causes breakouts rather than clears them. With every tan, cell turnover increases, building up more dead cells, blocking pores, causing more breakouts. On top of that, UV rays will intensify post-acne dark marks. Skipping the sunscreen is not a viable way to treat acne and will often make it worse.

8:  Acne Treatment Sulfur Wash can be used as a 10-minute pore clearing mask and men can use it as a medicated shave lotion.

9:  Benzoyl peroxide can cause bleaching, so we suggest using white towels when using the Regimen.

5:  If pregnant or nursing, consult with your physician before using Regimen.

Doctor’s Tips

If you suffer from razor burn, use  Sensitive Skin Treatment as an after-shave balm. This will calm the red bumps and itchiness that can follow shaving for both men and women.

2: Use Sensitive Skin Treatment to quiet dry, chapped, wintry skin, including hands. Our OTC actives, dimethicone and allantoin, will help strengthen your skin’s barrier while the optical diffusers will leave your skin looking creamy and luminous.

3: If you forgot to reapply your sunscreen and find yourself with a sunburn (shame on you), Sensitive Skin Treatment will help reduce the inflammation

4: When patients are suffering from product overload, meaning they tried too many things, too fast or scrubbed too hard, we recommend SOOTHE Sensitive Skin Treatment to normalize their skin.

5: Avoid aggravating your sensitive skin. Never use an abrasive fabric like a washcloth or buffing pad. Remember, easy does it.

6: If exercise causes your red face to redden even more, keep a cool towel nearby to help bring your facial temperature down.

7:  Less is more when it comes to caring for sensitive skin.  Avoid fragranced formulas, toners, alcohol-based formulas, and glycolic acids. Also avoid hot showers, steam rooms, and saunas to minimize facial flushing.

8:  If you have concerns that your skin may be reactive or sensitive to ingredients, apply any new product in a small area on the jaw line before introducing them on your face.  We suggest this ‘patch test’ for three days three times a day:

1) Apply a small amount of the product for 30 seconds then rinse it off. 2) Apply each product on a separate area and re-apply the products over themselves. 3) Watch for a product reaction – redness, dryness, irritation, or swelling. 4) When you re-introduce the Regimen, do not use any products that irritate your skin.

9:  Gentle Cream Wash doubles as a calming shaving lotion to help reduce razor burn and irritation, and Sensitive Skin Treatment is an excellent aftershave treatment for men with sensitive skin.
