What posts are most read

Brain, cancer and health predominate my posts. I want to find the root causes of chronic diseases. After 40 years, my BFF lost one of her legs. I asked her if she is still drinking soda, and she replied that she stopped drinking many years ago. Before 40 years passed by, I know that she feel cold easy and had skin health issues. We now know that skin health issues are related to some organs such as kidneys, liver and lungs. And we also know that cancer cells feed on sugar.

Our thyroid and reproductive organs affect our control of temperature. And the pituitary gland is responsible for sex hormones, sleep, food cravings, stress hormones and other functions.

Do drink clean water and avoid toxins. Always eat whole foods, washed with salt or diluted vinegar water.

Santa Cruz redwoods and why I love Northern California

sc redwoods.JPG

I love the redwood , laurel and eucalyptus trees. I love the beach, even when the water is cold I can dip my body.

Next week, I will show the place to my high school BFF, Lynell.

I remembered seeing these pics from torn Reader’s Digest magazine from my grandma. I consumed this magazine and the dictionary after high school.

I promised to see these trees in the future, I said to myself then.

I love Northern California greenery, Whole Foods Store, Trader Joes , the farmers market and its people.

When I was in Oregon and Puerto Rico for more than a month, I missed Cali.

Before coming to N Cali, I worked in Taiwan and been dreaming about Cali since then after I saw it in 1983.

Every summer, I would drive my 2 children to Santa Cruz beach even when the highway is a dangerous zigzag one.

I got into a car accident 4 months of my arrival to Cali and driving the first Santa Cruz hwy 17 as first time driver.

I conquered my fear remembering that my father is the bravest driver I know.

In ten years, I plan to bring my future grandchildren to Santa Cruz beach for being in nature is healing to our bodies.

About Chronic Disease and prevention

Dear reader,

Most men and women in their 50s are concerned about chronic disease seeing many of their families and relatives died of heart or lung disease because a chronic illness was not diagnosed early.

Each person is unique in the way they react or fight disease. Each one is exposed to environmental toxins that can weaken their immune system. See immune system, inflammation, sleep, whole foods, toxins, detox, liver, gut microbes, metabolism, sugar, cancer and aging in this site to learn more about the relationships of many factors that contribute to chronic illness.

Here are some medical narratives that I observed in the way some of the people died and lived their lives.

A 68 yr old male died of pancreatic cancer. He had been taking  anti-viral and other medications early in life. During his middle age coupled with stress, he worked hard and not getting good sleep.

Another male, 74 yr old, died of pancreatic cancer. He has worked in 2 jobs for the past 20 years and also did not get good sleep and his diet includes dried salted fish.

A female of 75 yrs of age died of ovarian cancer and diabetes. She loves to cook all the sugar and processed foods she loved.

A 93 yr old who is still alive has a big kidney stone that she does not want operated on. She has a hip replacement. We added lemon and apple cider vinegar and baking soda in her drinks.

My 82 yr old mom who only takes one med, anti-hypertensive experienced groin pain and reading from her blood and urine lab tests, I suspected virus so I suggested that she take her supplement of turmeric, ginger and oregano , Wholemend from Whole Foods and she ate many whole foods including bone broth. I also massaged her with oil and added essential oils of eucalyptus.

There are many stories and each one is unique. Email motherhealth@gmail.com if you need help in researching about your health.

Fat burning foods

Prepare these whole foods in a soup or salad with no processed oils and other processed foods. Whole foods are better absorbed with a side dish of veggies pickled prepared with apple cider vinegar and tsp of brown sugar.  Adding lemon in most of your dishes also facilitate absorption from the Vitamin C in lemons.  There is no secret among our movie stars who have a nutritionist beside them. Only whole foods and drinking coconut water or healthy beverage an hour before a meal.

Eat iron-rich foods  and copper food sources with Vitamin C at noon and in the afternoon dinner, eat calcium rich foods with omega 3, magnesium, potassium and Vitamin B and C for your metabolism to help you burn fat. These are copper and iron rich foods eaten in moderation:

  • 1) Beef liver. 3 oz: 14 mg (over 100% DV)
  • 2) Sunflower seeds. ¼ cup: 0.63 mg (31% DV)
  • 3) Lentils. 1 cup: 0.5mg (25% DV)
  • 4) Almonds. ¼ cup: 0.4 mg (20% DV)
  • 5) Dried apricots. 1 cup: 0.69mg (34% DV)
  • 6) Dark chocolate. 1 square: 0.9 mg (45% DV)
  • 7) Blackstrap molasses. …
  • 8) Asparagus.

Some of the best sources of vitamin B6 are poultry, seafood, bananas, leafy green vegetables such as spinach, potatoes and fortified cereals. Your diet should include 1.3 milligrams of B-6 daily to support new red blood cell growth.

Chicken, turkey, salmon and other fish including canned tuna packed in water are all excellent natural sources of niacin. Fortified cereals, legumes, peanuts, pasta and whole wheat also supply varying amounts.

Animal foods are the only natural source of vitamin B12, but many products, including soy products and cereals, are fortified with B12 so it is widely available in the food supply. Other good natural sources include shellfish, such as clams, mussels and crab, fin fish and beef. You need only a small amount of B-12 — 2.4 micrograms daily. This B-12 will boost red blood cell production and support your nervous system.

Liver and egg yolks are the richest dietary sources of biotin — a nutrient needed for a healthy metabolism — but fortunately this B vitamin is well distributed throughout the food supply, so it is unlikely that anyone eating a balanced, varied diet will experience a deficiency. Salmon, pork and avocado are good sources; most fruits and vegetables contain a little biotin, as do cheeses and grain foods.

Yogurt and avocado are both excellent sources of pantothenic acid, a vitamin needed for enzyme function, but it is also available in a wide variety of foods such as legumes including lentils and split peas, sweet potatoes, mushrooms and broccoli. Consume 5 milligrams daily.
